Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use Quiz Nights – the website quiznights.se, the host app app.quiznights.se and the player site live.quiznights.se. Quiz Nights is provided by Marko Gyllenland (sole trader), VAT number SE721218493601, Sigtunagatan 3, 416 56 Göteborg, Sweden (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@quiznights.se.

By creating an account or making a purchase you accept these terms. If you use the service on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to agree to them for that organisation.

2. The service

Quiz Nights is a tool for building and hosting quizzes. The host runs the quiz from a console, questions appear on a big screen and players answer on their phones. The service includes ready-made question packs and lets you write your own questions.

The service needs an internet connection and a modern web browser. We develop the service continuously and may add, change or remove features. Features marked “Coming” are not included until they launch.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 18 to create a host account.
• The details you give must be accurate. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done through your account.
• Your account is personal and may not be transferred or shared.

4. Players

Players don't need an account. They join a quiz with a code, choose a team name and answer in their browser. The host is responsible for the quiz night and for making sure players know how the service is used. Team names must not be offensive; inappropriate names may be blocked automatically and the host can remove a team.

5. Plans and prices

• Free: one quiz night and the eight starter packs with 80 questions. Your own questions and premium pack purchases are not included.
• Single night: a one-off purchase giving the same features as Pro for seven days from purchase. Buy another night before the time runs out and seven days are added.
• Pro: a monthly subscription with unlimited nights and clients, your own questions and the option to buy premium packs individually.
• VIP: a monthly subscription with everything in Pro plus all premium packs.

Current prices are shown on quiznights.se and in the app before you pay. The single night is shown including VAT. Subscriptions and premium packs are shown excluding VAT; VAT is added at checkout based on where you live and whether you buy as a business.

6. Payment and invoices

Payments are handled by our payment provider Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. Every purchase comes with a receipt or VAT invoice.

Subscriptions are paid in advance and renew automatically every month until you cancel. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry for a period; if it still fails, the subscription ends.

7. Cancelling and changing plans

• You can cancel your subscription at any time under Plan & billing in the app. It stays active until the end of the paid period and then doesn't renew. There is no minimum term.
• We don't refund a period that has started, except where mandatory law entitles you to a refund.
• If you upgrade from Pro to VIP you get access straight away, and the difference for the rest of the period is invoiced.
• If you move down from VIP to Pro, or end VIP, the premium packs included in VIP are hidden from your question bank. Packs you bought individually stay. If you upgrade again, the hidden questions become available again.

8. No right of withdrawal for digital purchases

Everything we sell is digital and delivered immediately after payment: access to Single night, Pro and VIP starts straight away, and purchased question packs are added to your question bank at once.

Before you pay, checkout asks you to expressly agree that delivery starts immediately and to acknowledge that you thereby give up your right of withdrawal. Under EU consumer law (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU), the right of withdrawal then no longer applies to the purchase.

Subscriptions can always be cancelled to the end of the paid period as described in section 7. If something goes wrong with a purchase – for example if you were charged twice or didn't get access – email us at info@quiznights.se and we'll put it right.

9. Question packs and our content

The questions, question packs, texts, themes and design in Quiz Nights belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and database rights.

You may use the questions in quizzes you host yourself, including commercial events such as pub quizzes and corporate events. You may not copy, publish, sell or otherwise distribute the questions or packs outside the service – for example as lists, in other quiz tools or in print.

A premium pack you buy individually is yours to use for as long as your account exists and we provide the service, whatever your plan. The right is personal and cannot be transferred.

We work hard to make questions and answers correct, but mistakes can happen. As the host, you have the final say on marking during the night. We are not liable for the consequences of an incorrect answer, for example when prizes are awarded.

10. Your content

You own what you add yourself – your own questions, logos, background images and client names. You are responsible for having the right to use that content and for it not breaking the law or anyone else's rights.

• You give us the right to store, process and display your content to the extent needed to provide the service. Uploaded images appear on the big screen and can be reached by anyone with the link.
• Your own questions on Pro and VIP are fact-checked automatically. The question, answer, question type and any source you gave are sent to an AI service that searches for evidence. Your name and email are not sent.
• Questions you write are also saved in a question pool. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free and perpetual right to review, edit and use those questions in question packs we offer in the service. Questions are never published with your name. If you don't want a particular question used this way, email us.

11. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to spread illegal, offensive, discriminatory or misleading content, infringe anyone's rights, try to access systems or accounts that aren't yours, put an abnormal load on the service, or automatically extract content from it.

If you break these terms we may remove content and suspend your account. For serious or repeated breaches we may terminate the agreement with immediate effect.

12. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service running without interruption but cannot guarantee it. Maintenance, supplier outages and internet problems can affect the service.

We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost revenue or a cancelled event. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last twelve months. These limits do not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence, and they do not restrict your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

13. Closing your account

To close your account, email info@quiznights.se. Cancel any subscription first. We delete the account and its content as described in the privacy policy. We may end the agreement for free accounts with 30 days' notice.

14. Personal data

How we process personal data is described in our privacy policy. Organisations on VIP that need a data processing agreement covering team names and answers at their quiz nights can have one on request.

15. Changes

We may change these terms. We will tell you about material changes, such as price increases on subscriptions, by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't accept a change, you can cancel your subscription before then.

16. Governing law and complaints

Swedish law applies. If you're unhappy, please contact us first at info@quiznights.se – we want to put it right. Consumers can also contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (arn.se). If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection given by the mandatory consumer law of your country. Other disputes are settled by the Swedish courts.
